Porth Joke

A sandy beach in a sheltered cove to the south of Newquay, north of Holywell Bay and west of Crantock village. It is a long narrow beach sandwiched between West Pentire Head and Kelsey Head.

Access
About 15 minute walk from Crantock car park.

Swimming & Surfing
This is a fairly exposed beach break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Works best in offshore winds from the southeast with some shelter here from south winds. Warning: Watch out for dangerous rips. There are no lifeguards here.

A small National trust car park nearby. Two larger car parks at West Pentire.

Dog Friendly
Dogs allowed at all times of the year.
