A wide, flat beach with some shelter from winds. It sees good quality surf and is quite often extremely crowded, particularly towards high tide when the beach is narrower. Blue Flag and Quality Coast Award Winner in 2010 and 2011.
Pentireglaze is the section north of New Polzeath. The main beach to the south is known as Hayle Bay or Polzeath Beach.



Access
Polzeath beach is accessible directly from the road. Pentireglaze is accessed by short footpaths from the road.

Swimming & Surfing
Surfing is quite safe here and is recommended for beginners.

Facilities
Lifeguard Weekends only from 9th to 25th April. Daily from 29th April - 25th September. Weekends plus half term week in October.
Toilets and shops in Polzeath and New Polzeath.
Sand chairs for the disabled are available for hire, please contact Anne's Cottage Surf Shop on 01208 262812.

Parking
Several car parks in Polzeath and another in New Polzeath. Some limited parking on the road across the back of the beach at New Polzeath out of season.

Dog Friendly
Dogs are banned on Polzeath beach from Easter Day to October 1st
