GREAT WESTERN BEACH, NEWQUAY
Great Western is a bay type beach that is sheltered by high cliffs, rocky inlets and steps to various hotels. During high water Great Western is a small cove like beach but when the tide is out it joins with Towan and Tolcarne producing a large open beach. It is exposed to moderate Atlantic swells that can create surf.
Can be accessed via a concrete walk down between the Barracuda nightclub and the Great Western Hotel.
There is good disabled access and a private lift which descends through the cliffs from the Great Western Hotel.
